Abide With Me - Galations 5

Hello Everybody!!

It has been a ridiculously long time since I last posted anything here and it is about time I gave you all a halloo. :)
 
I have been reading more and more in my Bible and I am so excited to say that I have read scripture every day since January 1st.
 
This has been such a big stepping stone in my life! I have never been able to be so faithful before, and as it says in Galatians 5:22 that one of the fruits of the Spirit is faithfulness, I have asked the Lord to help me with this.
 
Not to say that my Bible reading has been several chapters long each day, but it has been at least a verse or two to chew on all day.
 
Today I was really struggling with feeling like a total failure and tomorrow I am taking a young lady out to lunch to spend time with her and just talk about life.
 
I feel so inadequate as a young woman to give counsel, or advice, or share with any other young woman.

And as I shared with my mom today - she reminded me that Satan would like nothing better than to hinder my service to Christ in any measure. My Spiritual gift is Encouragement, and many times I have silenced myself from using this gift out of listening to his lies.

"You were running well; who hindered you from obeying the truth? This persuasion did not come from Him who call you. A little leaven leavens the whole lump of dough. I have confidence in you in the lord that you will adopt no other view; but the one who is disturbing you will bear his judgment, who-ever he is."    Galatians 5:7-10

And it continues........

"For you were called to freedom, brethren; only do not turn your freedom into an opportunity for the flesh, but through love serve one another."
Galatians 5:13


Dear Jesus,

Jesus I pray that you would speak through me tomorrow and be the friend and encourager through this vessel. I ask that you would be with us tomorrow and rule over every moment. I pray, Holy Spirit that you would fill me with your strength and gifts, and I thank you for the honor you give me by living within my heart and speaking through me to uplift my brothers and sisters in Christ. Thank you Jesus for dying on the cross for me and I ask that I would be a blessing and reflect your love tomorrow in all I do and say.

In Jesus Name I pray,
Amen

      Yes, Tom challenged us to read scripture every day this year. So far, do good! 😀

    You mean the Bible Reading plan? Yes that was a Tom Short challenge. She is determined to be able to raise her hand at Faith Walkers this year. :-)

Dear Readers, I thought that I would put this poem on here that I wrote recently. As a ballet fan, I love the artistic quality of the choreography and movement of Ballet. Dancing Ballet, at least in my view, is the creative merge portrayed between a dancer's imagination and movement. These two blend together to create a unique portrayal of beauty. Although Ballet is also a dance that requires much hard work and discipline, it is also somewhat freeing in it's way. Excuses.... excuses... excuses!

Dear Readers, I just thought that I would share with you something that I have been convicted with recently. For the past month I have been working at my new job as a toddler teacher at a daycare. I work full time and am gone all day until late in the evening, leaving me with Saturday and Sunday off. I am busy rushing off to work in the morning so I don't pay much attention to my younger siblings during my morning time, and by the time I get home I am too tired and sleepy from my day at work to pay attention to them. I have found myself spending all my day hours just focused on myself and it's ridiculous! I am constantly using the ugly phrase "I am just too busy!" "How many times a day do I use that sentence?" I thought to myself. "What if I recorded every time that I said that? What if I calculated the amount and compared it to the number of times that I said the opposite? What if I made it a goal to not say that every day as an ex...

Prayer Journal Idea...

Dear Readers, I have been really excited recently with something that I have caught back up on in my walk. When I was thirteen, I started writing down my prayers in a journal each day. It helped me to keep track of prayer requests and to be faithful in my communication with God. Anyhow- I have been doing it ever since, but recently have fallen away with this ritual. I stumbled upon one of these journals and was reminded about it. I have started again with a new book now and I am so glad to be back in the swing of my Prayer Journal writing again, as I have missed the comfort of it for a while! Anyways- I just thought that I would mention this idea to you. There are so many benefits to a Prayer Journal, and I just wanted to share with all of you! If you are having trouble remembering to pray, then this is a great way to get back into things. Just find a notebook or journal and keep it next to your bed for easy remembrance.
