Jesus, Who are You? Part One:

Image
About a month ago, I was really frustrated with myself. I was determined to be a good Christian, reading my Bible but lost every time I opened it up. “Where do I begin?” I wondered. “Where do I even start? What am I searching for?” I wanted to learn, and grow, but I did not know wh ere to begin! And then I had heard someone read from the book of John about the part where Jesus talked about “abiding.” “Abide in me, and I in you,” Jesus said in John 15:4. “As the branch cannot bear fruit by itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you unless you abide in me.” This was a new concept to me, even though I had been raised in the faith, and knew about “following Jesus.” What was abiding? And what did that mean? I learned from this that on my own I was unable, and I wanted to grow and “bear fruit” and be close to Jesus. But how? And then came a struggle in trying to “abide.” I knew that I should read my Bible and pray and focus m...

A Poem - "New Paths"

Image
New Paths I am at the age Where new paths are just Part of every day Another day Another choice I am feeble Timid Trying, breaking, falling Feet are pointed, but still Where do I go next? This does not make any sense And I have learned It’s ok A universe of questions Scattered in my mind And I am learning It’s ok He says to me “Be still.” “I am your grace” “I am your passion” “I am your stillness” So I fall Into His arms He leads me where He wants I jump He guides I still stand in confusion Not sure where to turn But if I choose the wrong path He will turn me back around Falling hurts But standing still is worse Baited breath So fall I will Or run I will He leads me And He is my grace My brilliant light I don’t know But I...

Is Relativism Right?

Image
Hey Folks! So today's topic is Morality, Relativism, and of course, the all assuming question circulating both. Is Relativism correct in it's viewpoint? Is there absolute truth? How does this pertain to life? Well, in my class this week, I wrote the following paper on these subjects and mostly their status surrounding the question, "Well, that may be true for you, but it isn't true for me." I will say that by no means am I an expert on these subjects or have a perfect view in any regard, but I hope that you enjoy it at some level. :) I am merely stating facts. I don't mean to start any fights or "word tussles" on here at all, just a viewpoint. This exercise mainly was a huge help in my convictions and in the solidarity with which I believe in the most important absolute truth of today: God. :) So grab some snacks and a positive outlook and enjoy! - Lindsay "It may be true for you, but it’s not for me." -A Critique-        ...

My Parent's Love Story

Image
Hey Everyone!! So - one of my classes this week has been on Marriage and Family, and the assignment that I chose was to observe a marriage that I knew fairly well and write a paper on it, it's strengths and weaknesses, etc. And this is the result! I must say that I am fairly proud of it, because I poured my heart and soul into every word. And because the content of it and the marriage I chose to write on are near and dear to my heart. You can already guess the couple I chose to observe, right?! Yup! My own wonderful parents!!! So grab some popcorn and a good cup of Earl Grey tea and enjoy my favorite love story ever. 💗💕💑 (I guess you could say this is my pre-Valentine's Day gift to you all!) - L ~~~~~~~ Rhonda and Patrick Miles were married on July 11th, 1992, in the beautiful woodland park in the Jemes Mountains of New Mexico. It was a beautiful day, and my mother had walked beside her dad up the aisle with her white dress billowing in the wind, while my father st...
